Plant Overview
The Duranta Gold Landscaping Plant, widely celebrated as Golden Dewdrop or Gold Mound, is a spectacular, high-performance tropical evergreen shrub that serves as an essential element in high-end structural landscape design. Highly prized for its radiant foliar display, this premium variety features small, ovate, and finely serrated leaves that erupt in an exceptionally bright chartreuse to brilliant golden-yellow hue. The intense coloration becomes more vivid with increased sun exposure, creating a luminous, eye-catching canvas that effortlessly breaks up blocks of standard green foliage. Boasting a naturally dense, compact, and multi-branched growth habit that responds beautifully to shearing, it is the premier choice for crafting manicured low hedges, high-contrast pathway borders, or glowing focal groupings in sun-drenched garden layouts.
Growing Requirements
● Sunlight: Full sun to partial morning sun; full direct daily sunlight is essential to lock in and maximize the brilliant golden leaf intensity
● Watering: Moderate; water thoroughly when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry, maintaining a balanced medium without waterlogging
● Soil: Highly fertile, loose, and sharply well-draining loamy potting mix enriched with organic compost
● Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced organic liquid fertilizer or compost extract every 3–4 weeks during active warm growing months
● Placement: Perfect for bright sunny balconies, landscape border paths, low formal hedges, and decorative patio container groupings
Bring home a Duranta Gold Plant and enjoy its magnificent sun-kissed foliage, dense architectural form, and resilient nature that effortlessly injects a permanent, radiant glow into your outdoor garden layout.
