Plant Overview
The Star Fruit Plant, scientifically known as Averrhoa carambola, is a highly popular and attractive tropical evergreen tree celebrated for its distinctively shaped fruits and high ornamental value. The tree features beautiful, feathery pinnate leaves that react softly to light and changes in the environment, complemented by clusters of small, fragrant pink-to-lavender blossoms. When sliced horizontally, the oblong, deeply ribbed fruits form perfect five-pointed stars. Offering a crisp, juicy texture with a refreshing sweet-and-tangy flavor, these fruits are enjoyed fresh, in salads, or as stunning culinary garnishes. With a compact and naturally bushy growth habit, this quick-fruiting variety is an absolute favorite for home gardens, sunny terraces, and patio containers.
